Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

I was thinking about those clips, but I’m mostly interested in overall usage, and I don’t know if I’d need 2 power monitoring off the 100a service, one for each phase.

I had RTL-SDR almost working a few years back sending data to MH through MQTT. The RTL-SDR process had a memory leak so it would make the rpi unresponsive, but I was able to read my outside electrical meter. I’m going to dust that off and maybe reboot the rpi every night to address the memory leak.

So stupid question — how would one convert kW to Amps. I’m on a 60hz/120v service, but since there are 2 phases coming into the house, should it be the meter kW / 240 or kW / 120? I think it’s 240, but I’m not sure.

I have a 100a service, and the wiring from the utility isn’t sized for 200a, so an upgrade would be pretty expensive. I’m hoping that the usage is low enough that I can just replace the panel without upgrading the service, so having usage tracking would be really helpful.
