[mh] My old reliable W800

So my longstanding MH hasn't been working right for a while.

Looks like my W800 is dead. At least, the power to it seems OK, and 
everything else hasn't changed in probably a decade.

I tested the power in. I tested sending/receiving signal from a Palmpad 
remote control. Not getting anything in MH.

wgldesigns.com is down.

So two questions:
a) is there anything else I can do to test it?
b) What's the best replacement alternative? Mostly my implementation 
uses a firecracker to transmit, and the W800 to receive, so my MH 
implementation is mostly deaf now.
