[mh] Using process item for internal mh commands.

I'm trying to get my head around using Process_Item to remove the 'set 
$light ON' commands from the main loop.  The closest I have been able to 
get is to call a subroutine using Process _Item that performs the set 
command. Problem is I can't seem to figure out how to use a variable  in 
the   set $process_item 'command' . Is there a way to pass a variable to 
Process_Item that I'm missing?


Is there a better way to take the sets out of the main loop"
