Wanted to reply back.  Decided to go with Pushover App.  Is a pretty simple
curl command to send out push notifications. Can send pictures.  Can create
groups of users.  Support for all the platforms I'm interested in.   $4.99
license fee per user per platform after a 30day trial.   Can't say I love
the fee but it's extremely easy to use ... so ... fine.
