Semiontology

While looking for something else, I found these old pictures
that I had drawn about the relation of ontology to semiotics.
I'll record them here as a reminder to think about the issue
some more next week.  In this context, I am viewing ontology
as a large number of people commonly do, as a matter of what
hierarchies, lattices, posets (partial orders) might be best
for organizing "objects of discussion and thought" (OODAT's).
In my way of thinking, I see it as a matter of starting with
an initial collection of objects, that are on analysis found
to be complex, having extensions and intensions in their own
right, that we may imagine being placed below and above them,
respectively, in some order whose nature is to be determined.
