TJ: I'm very glad that my call for a bottom-up approach to SIO has prompted
these contributions of yours. But a perfectly appropriate response could
also have been: "Tom, put up or shut up". Or, a little less succinctly:
"Tom, could you please explain what you mean by a bottom-up approach, and
    perhaps even provide an example?"

TJ: So besides catching up on your post-vacation contributions,
I'll try to do that. Stay tuned.

Hi Tom,

Actually, I thought that we had reached some kind
of general understanding on that, as I wrote here:

http://suo.ieee.org/ontology/msg05156.html

Now, we don't want to get into any sort of logical Limbo here --
I mean a game or contest to see how low a person can go, not
like a logical Bardo or Purgatotio, or parts South of that.
Because you know I've been a logical _|_-feeder for far
too long for you to have a chance in Limbo at that ...

But examples are always good to get one's feet back on the ground.
