The theme adopted for this Ontology Summit is: "Ontology Evaluation Across the Ontology Lifecycle." Track-D focuses on "Software Environments for Evaluating Ontologies." In this 5th panel session of the Summit, and the first Track-D session, we will start by laying out a plan to survey and study the landscape of software environments, systems and tools that feature "ontology evaluation." This will be followed by briefings from our panelists who will share with us their experience and insights on how a few (exemplary) software environments/systems/tools support ontology evaluation, and help assure quality in the development of ontology or ontology-driven application. Our last panelist will represent a user community developing a software environment, and has a "real need" to evaluate whether and which ontologies would best meet their needs. A Q&A and open discussion among all panelists and participants will follow after the briefings. ****************** These sessions, like all Ontolog virtual events, are open and free of charge. Anyone who is interested, or (better still) who may have something to contribute, is welcome. Please refer to event details on the session pages, to which the hyperlink is given above, where you will find session agenda, conference call dial-in, slides and other pertinent information. Feel free to pass this invitation along to colleagues who may also find these sessions to be of interest. *RSVP* by emailing Peter Yim at <[email protected]> offline (or add yourself directly to the session page if you are already an Ontolog or Ontology Summit community member) so that we can prepare enough resources to support everyone. [Please state clearly the date of the session you are registering for in your email.] ... All respondents will be subscribed (if they aren't already so) to the [ontology-summit] mailing list so they are participate in the virtual discourse. These sessions will be recorded and made available in a publicly accessible archive.
