This is what I did to make it work w/ daemontools on solaris 8 1. ran the socklog-conf like this socklog-conf unix syslog log /etc/socklog-inet /var/log/socklog-inet 2. stop the syslogd 3. changed the exec command for the /etc/socklog-inet/socklog-inet/run script to exec envuidgid syslog socklog sun_stream /dev/log /var/run/syslog_door 4. changed the exec command for log/run script to exec setuidgid log multilog s4999999 n10 /var/log/socklog/all 5. ln -s /etc/socklog-inet/socklog-inet /service/socklog No more rotating logs .. eehaaa!
