Well, it think it depends on what you are trying to acheve...
Also with an approach like the one that Paul Jarc uses you will still be
able to download an exact version - if you like...
My situation is that I would like to ease the initial install/update process
by just grabbing the newest versions og Geritts software packages - and I
can still revert back just by switching the default-symbolic-link for a
package if something is acting strange.
