Workrave on Linux Mint shows timer but no exercises automatically

I used Workrave on Windows and liked the exercises. Today I installed it 
on Linux Mint and it only shows the break timers (no exercise). The 
exercise screens work from the pop-up menu. I can't find an exercises 
option in the preferences. What am I missing? Thanks
