Hi Camilla, The red line across the icon means that you (or someone else) switched workrave to "suspended" mode. In suspended mode, it will not do much of anything. Please right click on the icon to open the menu. Select the "Mode" submenu, and then select "Normal". Now the red line should disappear, and workrave should resume working normally.
