suggestion for workrave

The basic idea of workrave is great. But..... I've just been reading about
'flow', and the bottom line seems to be, a 30 second interruption probably
means 15 minutes to get back in the groove - if you can. This makes workrave
seem like a flow killer - 'hey it's time for a break right now! If you want
to postpone it, stop and think about it and fiddle or put up with annoying
buzzers!'

One alternative that occurs to me is to have a small window or animated icon
that would let me see what my status is at those moments when I have a
natural pause between tasks. I should only get seriously interrupted if I
ignore the more subtle warnings for 'too long'.

Here's my idea for visual status cues:

* sleeping baby = all good
* crying baby = you need a 30 second break
* old man = you need a 5 minute exercise/stretch break
* atomic bomb/the mummy/ regular workrave warning stuff = man you have no
self-control, take a break right now, really!
* click on the icon/window= take break now.

It could be animated in a way to become more and more distracting as the
time between breaks becomes more and more critical - baby wakes up and looks
around, morphs into Winston Churchill.

I have no perspective on whether this is really a good idea or not. But
yesterday it seemed that whenever I had a good idea or a crisis that needed
immediate attention, workrave would immediately pop up.

Let me emphasize that I still love workrave and have no intention of turning
it off. I'm trying to contribute.
