My proposed schema for a Todo item:

Summary: string
Note: string
Duedate: ISO date/time string (YYYYMMDDThhmmss)
Status: (NotStarted, InProgress, NeedActions, Completed, Cancelled)
PercentComplete: range(0,101)
CompletionDate: ISO date/time string
Categories: categories[{ 'category': string }]
Private: flags[{ 'secret': True/False}]
Priority: None, 1=Highest, 5=Normal, 10=Lowest
