Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is involved in doing that? 
Running 0.9.10-official I poked around a bit, but couldn't find a way 
for BitPim to ask the phone for the firmware response packet. Phone 
Detect apparently doesn't work with my phone/8200's, despite the log 
saying it looked for a PM-8200.
