That would totally rock! :-)

One thing I'd love to see is this: What would be required to build
support for features incrementally?

For example:

How do I discover the best way to communicate with my phone? Can I
send messages over the serial port or do I need to resort to
reading/writing the phone's file system directly?

What exactly would I have to implement if I just want to be able to
*view* my calendar?

What exactly would I have to implement to be able to edit it and write it back?

Those are the questions I am asking now as a newbie.

Instead of "Look at the existing code for other phones", I am more
interested in how someone who has done it a few times approaches it -
I assume you fall into that category! ;-)

I know that may be a difficult question to answer for someone who has
done a few dozen phones, and does it reflexively now - but for a guy
like me who is just learning both the language and the application
source, trying to get it all is kind of overwhelming.

I'll get there eventually, but right now, it's like trying to eat an
elephant - it sure would be easier to break it into smaller bites.

If you can help me get there, I'll do what I can to document it on the
wiki for the other n00bs that will come after me (so you don't have to
put up with my 627384678236847 questions again from someone else).

:-)

Thanks,
Larry
