Here's my conversation with wikispaces. ======================================== ======================================== from: me to: help@wikispaces date: Jun 17, 2007 1:44 PM subject: import into wikispaces? I'm using wikispaces on sourceforge. I have html help files that I want to convert to wikispaces. I have the source for the help system, so I can convert it into any format. Is there a way to bulk-import into wikispaces? _____________ from: help@wikispaces to: me date: Jun 18, 2007 12:55 PM Hi Mark. We don't have an easy way to go from HTML to wikitext at the moment. You can copy and paste from a browser into the visual editor and if it's simple enough HTML it might do a decent job. How many pages are you looking to get in? Adam ________________ from: me to: help@wikispaces date: Jun 18, 2007 2:24 PM Thanks for your reply. I have a medium-sized application, with a full-fledged help system. More than a hundred pages, fewer than a thousand. Note that I'm not looking for an HTML to wikitext conversion; I can do that myself. What I'm looking for is a way to bulk-import without having to copy/paste each page into the browser. I'd like to import one big flat file that has some kind of end-of-file markers in it, which would delineate each wiki page. Each wiki page would already be in wikispaces mark-up. ________________ No further reply from wikispaces. Sounds like each page will have to be pasted in. I'm okay with this, and it seems like the best way to go because it reduces the admin burden. And, the plan is for it to be a one-time load anyway. ======================================== ======================================== See: http://bitpim.wiki.sourceforge.net/ The pages in the wiki that are currently populated are: Welcome Wiki Strategy Tour About BitPim (only first section, but LICENSE subsection is complete) I expect this is the look & feel we'll have when all done. Please have a look. ________________ To get a .zip of the test pages currently on the wiki: go to: http://bitpim.wiki.sourceforge.net/space/about and click on Export Space as HTML: "Windows .zip" (or "Unix.tgz") All the pages come over as individual html files. The frame window does not come over, but no big deal. Are these files what you guys need for the help system? ======================================== ======================================== Regards, Mark. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
