Thanks for posting your patches.

I have checked in your code.  I set it up so that it will only be available
when BitPim is run from source.  (See where I put your lines in
__init__.py.)

I did make some changes to avoid code duplication.  It inherits from the
3100 instead of the 8300 now.  It is likely that I broke something in doing
that.

Have you tried the phonebook protocols that the Katana (SCP-6600) uses?  It
is quite different from other Sanyo models.
