Joe,

I seem to have taken a step backwards. Now the attempt to transfer contacts into or out of the phone causes an immediate exception (see attached Trouble Reports).

I suppose my next step is to revert to the prior version (bitpim-1.0.7.20090805-setup.exe) and confirm that it can still read contacts from the phone.
