I was able to make some progress on figuring out the problem with this. It seems that categories (groups) are not being imported correctly. The issue that causes the exception is when there is an empty group in your phone. In other words, erase all of your empty groups or add some people to them and the problem should go away... sort of. Even after correcting that problem, groups won't be imported correctly, but at least you won't get an exception. I started looking through the source, but don't have time to fully solve the problem now. If I can later, I'll post back here and to the developers group. Thanks. - Daniel P.S. I did all of the above testing on the current subversion source at r4833.
