iBook G3, Tiger (Mac OS 10.4.7), Bitpim 1.01, upgraded to 1.0.6 ppc Test
MacBook Pro, Leopard (Mac OS 10.5.8 ), Bitpim 1.0.7
While trying to export contacts as a CSV file or vCard file from Bitpim, I
continued to get an Exception error (see below). In Bitpim, I would go to
File>Export> CSV Contacts. An "Export phonebook to CSV" dialog box would
appear, and I would see "bitpim.csv" in the "File" field. To the right of
the "File" field, was a "Browse" button, which I mistakenly assumed was for
browsing to other csv files on my hard drive. So, I ignored the "Browse"
button and just clicked on "OK" at the bottom of the "Export phonebook to
CSV" dialog box, which then would result in the Exception error.
Finally, in the "Export phonebook to CSV" dialog box, I decided to try
clicking on the "Browse" button. A "Select a File" dialog box appeared with
"Save As", "Where", and "Format" fields, and a "Save" button at the bottom.
After choosing where to save the bitpim.csv file, I clicked on "Save". The
previous "Export phonebook to CSV" dialog box appeared again. I clicked on
"OK" at the bottom. This series of steps resulted in a successful Export of
the phone contacts as a cvs file (or as a vCard file).
I doubt anyone else has made this same mistake, but in case someone has, I
thought I would let you know how I corrected the mistake.
