Apple iBook with Tiger 10.4.7
Sanyo 6600, Katana I

While trying to export contacts as a csv file from Bitpim (for my Sanyo 6600
Katana phone), I received an Exception error:

BitPim version: 1.0.6.ppc-Test
An unexpected exception has occurred.
Please see the help for details on what to do.

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "importexport.pyo", line 2347, in OnOk

      key_count = Keys ['addresses', 'categories', 'emails', 'flags',

                   {'addresses': 0, 'ringtones': 0, 'flags': 0, 'numbers':

       filename =  u'bitpim.csv'
         record =  {u'serials': [{u'slot': 1, u'sourcetype': u'scp6600',
u'sourceuniqueid': u'7f4bc

type 'wxDialog *' at 0x1
              _ =  <wx._core.CommandEvent; proxy of <Swig Object of type
'wxCommandEvent *' at 0xbf

When I tried to create a Trouble Report, it failed.

In an earlier version of Bitpim, I also recieved the above Exception, but
was able to select "Continue" and the export worked, althought the contacts
were not in alphabetical order as they were in Bitpim.

Is there a way to make the export feature work in Bitpim 1.0.6 ppc version
for a Mac?

Phone: Sanyo 6600 Katana I
Bitpim version 1.0.6 ppc
Apple iBook with Mac OS 10.4.7

I wanted to add that a google search found another person who had the same
Exception error as I reported in my previous email:

http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.mobile.bitpim.user/9917

Note that he had Bitpim version 1.0.7 on MacOS Leopard.

I am wondering if there is something wrong with our type of phones which may
prevent an export of the phone Contact information from Bitpim to a CSV
file.

To add a little more information, I am able to go to File/Export in Bitpim
and export the contacts (from my daughter's Sanyo 6600 Katana phone) to a
vCard.
Also, in an earlier version of Bitpim (1.0.1), I was able to export the
contacts as an HTML file. (Version 1.0.6 does not have that HTML export
selection).
Media can be exported.
But attempts to export from Bitpim the CSV Calender and CSV Call History
result in the same Exception error as trying to export CSV Contacts:

*BitPim version: 1.0.6.ppc-Test
An unexpected exception has occurred.
Please see the help for details on what to do.

*
When I try to send a Trouble Report after filling out the TroubleReport
fields, the following error appears:
*
"Trouble Report Error
Failed to Create Trouble Report*"

I tried Repairing permissions in Disk Utility, but it did not fix the Export
CSV Contacts problem .

Also, I was unable to locate the .bitpim file in my User folder. The only
place I can find any Bitpim files is in the Preference folder inside my User
Folder's Library Folder. The preference file reports the LG-VX4400 phone
instead of my daughter's Sanyo 6600 Katana phone:

*path=/Users/karencastle/.bitpim-files
lgvx4400port=auto
phonetype=LG-VX4400
SafeMode=0
updaterate=Never
[bitfling]
enabled=0
[windows]
[windows/ConfigDialog]
x=0
y=22
width=641
height=278
[windows/MainWin]
x=0
y=22
width=400
height=471*

Do you think the Bitpim Exception error that results form an attempt to
export CSV Contacts from Bitpim is a due to a phone specific problem? Or, am
I doing something incorrect in Bitpim?

Thank you in advance for your consideration of this export problem.

Karen

You might try a generic Sanyo driver.

Is anybody working on bitpim support for the Samsung Rogue or know of the
status of support for this phone?
