If you actually were a lawyer, I would expect you to exhibit two characteristics which are clearly lacking:
1. As a lawyer you should be able to read and understand English
and
2. As a lawyer you should know that the CAN-SPAM act does not apply to any email communcation which the receiver requested.

Clearly you are not competent to be a lawyer. On the other hand, in today's farce of a legal system, you are certainly not the only "lawyer" running around who cannot read and understand simple instructions written in perfectly clear English. In fact, there are quite a few trial lawyers who make profitable careers of soliciting cases where they convince clumsy idiots to sue people because the idiot was an idiot with the predictable results.

All that aside, each and every email on this mail list server includes simple clear accurate directions for unsubscribing from the mail list to which you had previously subscribed. Unsubscribing is no more complicated than subscribing -- but perhaps you had a paralegal or secretary in your office do that for you since you apparently lack the skills to read and follow directions.

Now, if you actually want to unsubscribe, I would recommend that you follow either of the procedures provided in each and every email. Or you could simply do us all a favor and just go to hell.

AND it ALSO states what I quoted below as well, which you completely failed to address.

Now, as a consumer law litigation attorney, I don't want to have to start citing to the CAN-SPAM Act or other consumer/telecommunication laws, but suffice it to say I expect an accurate and direct response to my inquiry and the issues raised therein.

  Thanks in advance,

At the bottom of each email it says:

BitPim-user mailing list [email protected] Unsubscribe or change options at https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bitpim-user

So, go to https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bitpim-user and unsubscribe by going to the bottom of the page, where it says "To unsubscribe from BitPim-user, get a password reminder, or change your subscription options enter your subscription email address: " and put in your email address. If you forgot your password, request to have it sent to you.

Tell me about it! And I'm glad you mentioned it, because even God can't discern the meaning of the following instructions. Why in the hell (pun intended) would an unsubscribe request direct one to send an email "with the subject or body 'help' to....."?? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Wow. Out of all the people who you'd think could get himself off the list...
