LG U880 Qs - REPOST

People,

I posted this about a year ago and didn't get a response but I am still 
interested in sorting this phone out - should I post a note on the 
developer list?

I just discovered BitPim and it looks great! (I am a Linux user so 
thanks for the work).  I looked at the recommended pages before writing 
this note.

I see this phone is not supported - I tried a couple of the other LG 
phones until I saw the warning about not doing that.  I set the comm 
port to /dev/ttyACM0 and then tried the "Other CDMA" phone but couldn't 
get any life out of that setup either.

I am happy to buy a second hand phone for development work (I am in 
Australia - any developers here?).  I do have a little tech expertise to 
help with testing etc.  Is there anything I can do myself at the moment?
