Yes, under a limited definition of correctly.

I found, for example, that the transfer would fail if any entry contains address data. 

And Alan Monath reports that having any contacts marked as members of a contact "group" causes problems (I don't recall if that was one direction of transfer, or both ways.) I've never used the groups feature so that wasn't an issue for me.

Note that my usage is always of the form:

Transfer phone to BitPim
Export to .csv
Manipulate the .csv with Excel (merging with other contact lists)
Import the .csv back to BitPim
Transfer BitPim to phone

I can usually make the full flow work, subject to not adding data in columns that were empty when exported from the phone.
