Hmmmm! At one time, I had bitpim working on linux with several phones (mostly LG and Samsung, but .... I had to go to the "files" then capture in some subfiles there, but it worked, and with better resolution than wallpaper allows (I believe wallpaper has limited resolution still? Not sure). I had a reason to stop using bitpim, but I would be surprised if you couldn't get it to work on linux (actually, Ubuntu).
