Bitpim ubuntu install help please

I converted RPM to deb with alien.
Installed deb.

"Then convert it (this needs to be run as root) and then install the
resulting deb:
# alien bitpim-0.9.07-0.i346.rpm
# dpkg -i bitpim_0.9.07-1_i386.deb

Then we need to create a symlink due to bitpim's use of libbtiff version 3:
# cd /usr/lib
# ln -s libtiff.so libtiff.so.3

We can now try to run bitpim from the command line,"
