VX-9100 bug really fixed for Mac?

The version history for v 1.0.7 says

"Bug fix: LG VX-9100: BitPim failed to read media index file. "

but although there are 48 pictures on my card, I only see two empty 
directories in BitPim.
(Is the Mac version developer still catching up?)

Also, am not sure how much to update Python if necessary - am pretty 
sure what I have is 2.6 though I don't understand at all where the damn 
thing lives.  Was installed a while back for another reason and to avoid 
some mild form of PTSD, all memories were repressed.
