Thanx for the response John.  All my stuff is set to eastern time.  This seems to be more of an issue where BitPim is incorrectly parsing the date/time - at least for this particular phone.  I manually parsed the time, using a file system dump from the phone, with MFI's Hex Assistant and got the correct date/time in UTC.  I was wondering if there was a bug in BitPim that might account for this.

Thanx

The Bitpim project seems to be dead, but one possibility is the local time
setting of your computer.  Is your computer set to local time as UTC
-9, which would be Alaska time?

  Subject: [BitPim-user] Date/time
  discrepancy with Samsung SCH-A950

I recently had to examine an SCH-A950.  I first used a
Cellebrite UFED to extract the Call Log and Contact entries and used
BitPim to extract the Call Log and SMS entries.  Since the Call Log
was common to both, I compared the date/time stamps to validate the data
extracted by each tool.  I found a difference of exactly 5
hours.  My first thought was that BitPim was reporting in local
time and the UFED was reporting in UTC.  I conpared the time stamps
to what was presented on the phone's display and found the UFED was
actually reporting the correct local time and BitPim was reporting 5
hours earlier than local time (UTC - 9:00).

I checked the hex for the reported time and found it to convert to
        UTC (as I expected).

Why would BitPim subtact 9 hours from the stored UTC time
        stamp?

        Thanx
