Hi, the list !

I Need some help and have several questions, I've some time to spent on
dev for kannel, especially on the SMSC, MMS side.

But to have a quick start, I need some help.

1st, I would like to install a simple, old and basic GSM SMSC based on
alligata 1.0 over a RedHat 6.2 or a Mandrake Corporate Server
(pratically the same thing).

I got the following problem:
At_open_data_link: error open(2)ing the character device </dev/ttyS0>
System error 13: Permission denied.

I remember I've read somewhere that permission have to be changed on
this block device to make it works, but even with 777, I still have this
msg ? Any ideas ?

I've some other problems:
With 1.1.6 (thanks for the fresh release) I can't build the doc, I got
an error when the makefile attempt to built the alligata.ps

I've also a prob with the GSM SMSC part on 1.1.6
At_data_link: fail to set termios attribute
System error 5: Input/Output error

???

I got 2 phones:
1 Nokia 7110 with an RS232 cable
1 Ericsson T68 with his RS232 cable

Is there anything to do on the cell phone side to make it accept AT cmds
?

Is there any place where a described step by step 'how to set a GSM
SMSC' is described ? I would like to have a quick proof of concept
showing what we could do with kannel and a cell phone to have more
bandwith to work on kannel.

(My boss just want to buy the 'Empower' SMSC box :(( beuark!!! Closed
and proprietary world, just like microsoft)

Thanks for your patience, and your help.

JJ.

Take care all, and keep up the good work.
