Windows Kannel?

Yeah, I can easily remember that this question has been arisen here quite 
a couple times, but perhaps someone has some updated info; 

Has anybody ported Kannel to Windows, without using Cygwin but using
native window solutions for threads etc.? I guess that would need at least
rewriting some parts of the gwlib, mainly thread implementation. Then
smsc_at would also need some serious hacking.

Yeah, I guess cygwin would be sufficient but some people keep asking, can 
it be done without cygwin there - and I guess cygwin isn't the most 
efficient one if we want to have high throughput
