Hmmm, 15 msg/sec seems to be the limit of your EMI/UCP link, not Kannel's abilities to handle those via the smsbox HTTP interface and bearerbox connection. The hardware we use is pretty straightforward. Linux 2.4 box as 19" rack-mount, RAID5, 512 MB RAM and some Sun E250 (Dual-CPU) with 1 GB RAM for production environments.
