There is a branch stable_1_2_0.
But nothing went in there since tag version_1_2_0.

I am confused here, you already want to make tags for 1.3.0??
That makes no sense to me, or I am missing something.

Thus the branch is not used??. If we prefer this approach, we better
create the branch if needed, instead of at the point of a stable release.
