the release will be tagged of course. I'm still about to commit the
bug fixes to the 1.2.0 branch and wait for Aarno to commit a fix
before tagging and rolling 1.2.1.

Yeah, we may cut ChangeLog into:

  ChangeLog   -> current from stable x.y.z
  ChangeLog.x.y.z -> everything from a.b.c to x.y.z
  ChangeLog.a.b.c

  etc.
