ois da message sending problem

hi, i am a newbie here, i am modifying the smsc_ois.c
protocal from general access to direct access, but i
face problem when trying to send the header because it
contain zero (for example invoke is 0 in the message
type, the data type is octet integer) in the middle of
the header and when the socket is sending the message,
it will try to get strlen and my message will be
trancated, is there anyway to overcome this, i mean is
there any other protocol doing this as well (sending a
header with 0 in between) that i can refer to, or
else, i have to modify the socket.c file, which is the
last resort.

Note: i am actually modifying the smsc_ois.c and save
it as another file so that it act as another protocol.
