It effectively does anyway: log-file = "/usr/local/kannel/smsbox.log" All I want to do is have the facility to store that directly into a database as the message arrives instead of to a text file. MTA is a bad example. The size and content of an email message can range massively. Incoming SMS text messages are limited 160 chars per message so the overhead and storage required for 10,000 text messages is nothing compared to 10,000 email messages.
