I'm not familiar with Logica, so I have to refrain from commenting on it, but Comverse SMSC SMPP server is known to be broken in respect to the SMPP specifications so I'm loath to do anything to support it except on the basis of 'this is a broken implementation and we'll only support it to the extent that it has no influence what so ever on any other default or otherwise implementation'. After patching charset.c, character @ work properly So, my conclusion, this is not SMSC dependent problem.
