Motorola SMPP gateway

My carrier has told me I will be connecting to their Motorola SMPP3.4
SMS gateway. Has anyone had any experience with the Motorola gateway? Is
there anything I should configure differently in Kannel to support this.
I have seen some discussion about forcing a 3.3 connection on this list
and was wondering if this applied to Motorola?

I have recently seen discussion on 1.2.1 Kannel. Is there a release date
for this?
