Problems with large wap-push?

We're using Kannel 1.2.0 as a PPG/wap-gateway.
Push is working very fine up to a certain size of the push message 
(somewhere around 150-160 bytes).
When pushing larger messages everything looks ok, but the phone 
rejects/discards the push message.
Is there a limitation in Kannel, or could it be any configuration??
