Ericsson T68i The problem was to do with my http smsc setup not supplying a from field to my remote Kannel SMSC, and the remote Kannel SMSC not having a global sender setup. Fixed that now thanks Aarno however I am having trouble with the retrieval of the content that the phone tries to get.
