I configured it again using --disable-ssl and then it worked. For now I don't use SSL. The source I'm using was downloaded from www.kannel.3glab.org and is the official development release and not from the source tree. I've downloaded the previous development version and then I had no problem. Also, I would like to vote +1 on the tariff patch that has been circling the mailing lists.
