I've integrated and tested this in our tree.

* Works fine on the Nokia SDK (7210 sim.) for UTF-8/ISO 8859-1

* Works fine on the Openwave 6.2  SDK for ISO-8859-1 and UTF-8. You
must explicitly set the charset command line argument to UTF8 - otherwise
the SDK uses the character set implied by the language setting. The online
readme has all the details.

I also purify'd it for any memory leaks and there were none.
