Kannel Failover

Typical scenario
The server which hosts kannel crashes due to some reasons ( harddisk crash, Interface failure etc ) 
 
Environment
If i have a backup gateway which replicates the same smsc connections i have in the primary gateway, does kannel has the provision to switch to the backup gateway 
 
If kannel does not support failover can somebody give me ideas to acheive the same
