I have a primary Gateway taking the load but if the primary gateway crashes i want my backup gateway with the same configuartion to be active

lets assume you have one SMSC and two Kannel gateways connected to the same SMSC logging in with the same username etc.

in this scenario the two kannel's would be load sharing. If one kannel instance crashes, there will only be one SMSC connection left and all the load would go to it.
