All WSP parsers should accept any text string as content type, and pass 
it
to the server unmodified. See content-type-value productions:

Content-Type-value = Constrained-media | Content-general-form
Content-general-form = Value-length Media-Type
Media-Type = (Well-known-media | Extension-Media) *(Parameter)

and Extension-media:

  Extension-Media = *TEXT End-of-string
