yup, which means if one has two smscs with the same smsc-id you have problems.

Not really.. one cannot then specify a specific instance to be restarted as 
they have the same smsc-id

Well you may not want to or need to stop all connections with the same smsc-id

We have added a extra param smsc-ctrl-id - which defaults to smsc-id and is 
used in the stop/start code.
