How to build for maximum debug?

I need to build the PPG module (specifically the XML Validator) with all
debug information so I can determine what is wrong with the "file" I am
getting out of a Push Initiator (Currently I am just getting a generic
failure). How should I build this (Ideally what parameters do I give to
./configure or make)? I can't see any information in the guides but the
logging macros do seem to be controllable on a module basis
