Hi list, I would like to ask if someone of you has experience in provisioning Midlets to Java enabled phones like Nokia 3410 or others. I spent some time finding documents about the techinque and found one "official" document, http://java.sun.com/products/midp/OTAProvisioning-1.0.pdf, describing how things should work. I don't have deep knowledge of WAP (I use Kannel maily for SMS purporses) and I would like to ask, what role could Kannel play here as gateway between mobile user and web server used for content provisioning. I also searched Kannel's mailing list and found some notes about SAR and it's official implementation into Kannel so the other question is about the current state of it. According to the reference mentioned above, delivery is done over HTTP protocol allowing to use basic authentification, cookies, etc. Content server should provide two files: JAD and JAD which is used to define the size and location of JAR file, as well as it makes possible to use URL for "Installation Status Reports" and some other information. any experience of midlets provisioning (when Kannel acts as a gateway) would be very useful. regards, Dziugas Baltrunas
