Newby - all check tests fail...

Hi

I have a RedHat 9.0 system, I downloaded and compiled the latest release
tarball, did all (??) the instructed tasks - and got the check-date line
with FAILURE and then the checks hung (overnight - still hung).

Then I did a co fron cvs and repeated the above and got the same results.

If I open another window and do a 'ps ax' to find the pid of the running
processes, and then do a 'kill -TERM <test.pid> for each of the sub tests,
it looks like there is stuff running. The servers are up with gw/xxx config
files, but the test harness itself seems to just hang.

Any thoughts?
