We havent noticed this. However under relatively heavy usage - polling the 
Kannel status pages via http every 15secs (eg using mon on our lvs cluster) 
eventually ends up with a unresponsive http server in bearebox. It carries 
on receiving messages from the smsbox and sending etc via the smsc modules. 
We have never been able to track the source of this.
