Hi Stipe

I have looked at the archive. There seem to be some issues re encoding
(ref Bas A. Schulte's messages in April). I also have Andrew Leggetter's
interesting response to "Questions about MMS with Kannel", in which he
provides more details about Wap Push Messages and interaction of MMSCs.

Thomas Hager responded to an earlier message from me in August,
suggesting that you can "send MMS notifications with Kannel's ppg" and
pointed me to http://www/3gpp.org.

I have started reading the documents and hope very much to add MMS
capabilities to my existing SMPP system. I was hoping the Kannel team
would make sending MMS messages/notifications easy (there was a rumour
of Kannel providing an MMSC...), something like its support for SMPP! I
have gathered that MMS is a fairly complicated set of combined
protocols, although the MMS message itself has a simple structure. I
cannot class myself as a serious programmer or someone who is
particularly knowledgeable about networks, so I am keen to get hold of
some clear instructions if at all possible.

I'm very happy with Kannel. It might be interesting for you to know that
we have an SMPP connection into Orange's MAR for a number of small
software prototype systems using Kannel and FreeSWAN. More and more
small projects are using our connection to test prototype systems and
run small projects for Orange, because I have built a simple "smshub"
system which allows people to easily send and receive messages on their
http servers by relaying through this hub. Certainly, we can provide
this service with a lot less effort than Orange, thanks to Kannel. Once
I have added a proper DLR system, I intend to let anyone have the
"smshub" system if they are interested.

It would be great to extend our services to MMS so that a lot more
people would be persuaded to use Kannel. I would also extend the smshub
system so that it could work with MMS too.

Cheers!
Rory
